Friend,
It feels like we don't often get to share the GOOD news with you these days, which is why we're thrilled to talk about two incredible pieces of hopeful, exciting news!
Last night, Kansans voted to preserve abortion rights protections in their state constitution!
They saw through the cynicism and cruelty of the far-right, took their power to the polls, and secured a massive victory for reproductive freedom.
Kansas voters delivered a clear message to the anti-choice extremists in their state and states across the country: our prochoice movement has the majority, and when we organize, we win.
Make no mistake: defeating this ballot referendum was a clear backlash against overturning Roe v. Wade.
Yet the GOP continues to pour millions of dollars into false advertising and peddling lies to voters to criminalize abortion—passing legislation that would send doctors to jail for providing necessary healthcare.
This is why we continue to organize to build a different future: by electing prochoice district attorneys, city council members, and other local leaders, we can work to create safe communities where people are not threatened with jail time for accessing the care they need.
To save reproductive freedom, we must urgently expand on this work. Add your name to join our critical mission.
The other fantastic news is that the Atlanta City Council voted unanimously on Monday to budget $300,000 to cover appointments and practical support costs for abortions in Atlanta or Atlantans traveling elsewhere to seek abortions!
They're the first city in the southeast to pass this kind of funding. This is why Georgia continues to be a top priority for our work. Once again, it shows that when we organize, we win!
Our work to support local and state-level prochoice champions remains more crucial than ever, and empowering voters to fight back is our top priority ahead of the midterms.
But we need to know you're with us.
Add your name to stop the criminalization of abortion and support prochoice candidates.
We will win this fight.
