Dear John,
I have long been a champion for a Make It in America economy, creating good-paying jobs for America’s hardworking families. Last week, we sent a historic bill to the President’s desk that does just that.
For decades, most microchips we use in our cars and electronics were made overseas. This caused major supply chain disruptions and stuck us with rising costs during the pandemic. I participated in negotiations between the House and Senate to hammer out a bipartisan bill to address this issue. We did it. The CHIPS and Science Act will make sure chips and other critical technology is made in America.

The U.S. House of Representatives formally sends the CHIPS and Science Act to President Biden. |
As an electrician and labor leader, I know this is a big win for workers. By investing $52.7 billion in American manufacturing, we create jobs here at home. We also strengthen American competitiveness by incentivizing scientific research that has led to inventions like the cell phone and internet.
America was the first to land a person on the moon. We can lead the world through supercharging our manufacturing industry, developing cutting-edge technology, and growing our economy from the bottom up.
I am proud to play my part in getting this bill to the president’s desk and will continue fighting to strengthen our economy the right way: by putting the American worker first.
Sincerely,
Donald Norcross Member of Congress
