SEPT 16 in Palo Alto, CA and SEPT 30 in Waltham, MA

The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, reached out to Challenge Success and a handful of other organizations to help create detailed action plans to address the youth mental health crisis that has been exacerbated by the pandemic. We are proud to have been one of just a few non-profit organizations to be recruited ([link removed]) by the Surgeon General
([link removed]) , and our first set of events this fall will focus on this critical conversation.
A panel of speakers including Dr. Denise Pope, Lynn Lyons, and Dr. Meag-gan O'Reilly will be discussing youth mental health. This interactive evening will also feature local adolescent* students and provide attendees with concrete strategies for improving youth mental health in their schools and families. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to return to our traditional Friday evening format for these in-person panel discussions. We look forward to seeing you!

California Tackles Teen Sleep Deprivation As New School Start Times Take Effect | KQED
To help teens sleep better, California became the first state in the nation to set new start times for public schools: as of July 1, high schools cannot start earlier than 8:30, and middle schools no earlier than 8:00. Hear from Dr. Rafael Pelayo from the Division of Sleep Medicine at Stanford, and Lisa L. Lewis, author of "The Sleep-Deprived Teen: Why Our Teenagers Are So Tired, and How Parents and Schools Can Help Them Thrive". We are thrilled that they will be joining us at our fall conference in September!
