Today I'm reaching out to you to share my most recent endorsement of Jamaal and tell you why it's absolutely crucial that we do everything we can to ensure that he is reelected to keep fighting for our communities.
But before I go any further, I need to ask you one question. Can I count on you to show up for Jamaal and our progressive movement by chipping in $3 or whatever amount you can give towards his re-election campaign? Early voting starts in just 10 days and Jamaal has a massive pre-primary FEC deadline tonight at 11:59 PM — so we need to buckle down and do everything in our power to make sure Jamaal has the tools and resources to win this race.
I am so proud to endorse Jamaal for re-election. Now more than ever, we need more progressive champions in Congress, like Jamaal, who don't take corporate PAC money and are committed to ensuring that the large, profitable corporations that have been ripping off working families are held accountable.
But as we speak, there are establishment and corporate special interests who are sharpening their knives and strengthening their resources to halt our progressive vision. They're funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars into the pockets of Jamaal's conservative opponents to ensure that Jamaal is a one-term Congressperson.
Jamaal has been a critical partner in this fight for working people long before he joined our progressive movement in Congress. We've worked together on many fronts to build up a multi-racial, multi-class democracy that truly works for us all. From holding the disgraceful representatives and actors who took part in our nation's horrific insurrection attempt on January 6th, to standing up to the greed of pandemic profiteers with the Ending Corporate Greed Act — I look forward to continuing our work together.
Whatsmore, Jamaal's experience as an educator brings both compassion and understanding to our politics when both are in extremely short supply. We need voices in Congress, like Jamaal's, who have a lifetime of experience advocating for children and the most vulnerable so no one is left behind.
John, we need to come together to send a message loud and clear that our progressive power isn't going anywhere soon. Each day is a new day to recommit ourselves to the fight to end systemic injustice and inequality in our country and continue passing key policies that will truly benefit us all.
