PIF's Rapid Response Plan
** Preparing for Public Charge Ruling
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Allies,
We’ve got some exciting updates regarding our response plan for the expected final public charge regulation announcement, an important survey on access to Medicaid, and additional ways to stay connected. Keep reading to learn more.
** Final Public Charge Rapid Response Plan
------------------------------------------------------------
Once the public charge rule is finalized, we’re planning multiple events and resources to get you up to speed on its changes and implications, and to help you quickly share important information with your networks and the families you serve.
Our goal for the first few days is to make sure that mainstream and in-language media, and our partners, share accurate information. We also want policymakers to know that we expect them to leverage governments’ communication resources to reach immigrant families.
Here’s what you can expect from us within the first 3 days:
* Email alert with high level info about the rule
* PIF member call
* Explainer videos
* “What advocates need to know” resource
* Partner toolkit with messages
* Twitter FAQ and/or Tweetchat
* Webinar
* Working group conversations
* Updates to keepyourbenefits.org
Make sure to bookmark our website, as we’ll add important materials there.

** Survey: Challenges enrolling for Medicaid
------------------------------------------------------------
The Immigration Research Initiative (IRI) is conducting research to better understand the challenges that immigrants face when enrolling for Medicaid. IRI recently posted this microsite with stories, based on one-on-one interview, about the challenges people face ([link removed]) , and the help they may get. IRI is now conducting a short and simple survey, followed by an invitation for people to share some of their story or to talk with IRI staff about their experience. All participants will be compensated with a e-VISA gift card. Feel free to share the flyer with your clients or community!
