Our state's fiscal house is back in order, but now, the same politicians who drove our state into a ditch want the keys back.

John,

When you elected me four short years ago, we faced:

  • a budget that was broken at its core,
  • a public school system that was underfunded and underperforming,
  • and an economy that was stalled, especially in our rural parts of the state.

I ran for governor because teachers, parents, and everyday Kansans told me they wanted a change. They wanted a steady hand at the wheel. They wanted a leader who would work with them to get Kansas back on track.

And since I took office, you've helped me do just that.

Now that the primary election is over, I need your help to continue our work together. Chip in $5 now to kick-off our general election campaign.

Our first order of business after inauguration was to get the budget under control. So, we rolled up our sleeves, brought both parties together — and not only did we balance the budget, but we created a record surplus.

We fully funded our schools. Then, we passed a series of tax cuts to put money back in the pockets of Kansas families, including the elimination of the food tax. We cut taxes for veterans, for teachers, for agriculture, and small businesses.

We also put almost $1 billion into the state’s Rainy Day Fund, and we closed an old political slush fund known as the Bank of KDOT. We made sure the Highway Fund is actually used to rebuild roads, bridges, and highways – and now we have over 1,000 infrastructure projects in the works.

And, the results of our hard work are showing. Unemployment is at a record low. We brought in over $13.5 billion in new business investment and created and retained over 48,000 jobs. And last month, we landed the largest economic development project in Kansas history: Panasonic.

Our state's fiscal house is back in order, but now, the same politicians who drove our state into a ditch want the keys back. I need your help to stop them from erasing our progress. Will you chip in $5 now?

My opponent must think Kansans have a very short memory.

Politicians like Derek Schmidt will take us back to the days when extreme political ideologies won over basic common sense — he’ll take us back to the days of budget deficits, when some schools were so poorly funded that they were forced to go to 4-day school weeks. He would take us back to the days when Kansas was getting national attention for all the wrong reasons.

We tried that approach before, and it was a disaster. We cannot go back.

John, join me as we continue to put Kansas on the path forward, with stronger schools, an economy that keeps growing, and safe communities, where neighbors help neighbors and leaders work together.

I want to make Kansas the best state in America to get an education, raise a family, and start a business. And with your help, I know we will.

John, let's keep Kansas moving forward. Chip in now to help us spread our message, get out the vote, and win.

Thank you for your support.

Laura

Laura Kelly is one of the most vulnerable incumbent governors up for re-election in 2022. Extremists will do and spend whatever it takes to defeat Laura, so we're fighting back. Chip in to help us stay on track to win.
