A consumer protection attorney, former professor, and self-proclaimed Congressmom, Katie Porter burst onto the national scene when she flipped the longtime Republican stronghold of Orange County in the 2018 midterms.

From there, Katie quickly established herself as a fighter for working families, often leaning on her experience as a professor by breaking out a whiteboard in committee to confront corrupt CEOs and drive home policy talking points with razor sharp clarity.

Critics denounced Katie as “too far left” for her formerly conservative district and widely predicted she would be a one-term rep. But Katie’s well-earned reputation of fighting for her constituents and moral clarity has made her very popular, and she soundly defeated her 2020 GOP opponent by nearly 29,000 votes.

Katie is on track to win again in November, but we’re not leaving anything to chance. Katie doesn’t take money from corporate PACs or lobbyists, and dark money groups are spending big to defeat one of their harshest critics in Washington.

As a single mom of three, Katie’s fight for working families is deeply personal. In her work as a consumer protection advocate, she was one of the first to sound the alarm about predatory lending on Wall Street ahead of the 2008 financial crisis.

When the crisis hit, Katie was appointed by then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris to assist California families cheated by the five biggest Wall Street banks.

Katie held the big banks accountable and forced them to pay billions to the people they harmed, helping tens of thousands of families move forward with their lives.

Katie ran for Congress because, years after the financial crisis, it’s clear that millions of Americans are STILL suffering due to corporate greed, and they need a representative who will truly fight for them.

Recently, Katie has led the charge for a windfall tax to claw back illicit profits from Big Oil that are bankrupting Americans at the gas pump.
