Support of their education is support of the hope that their life will not continue the way it began.

The children in our safe homes in the Philippines receive schooling as a part of their holistic care. Your generosity makes life-changing education possible.

John,
In the States, I know you’re entering a time of thinking about going “back to school.” Because of our different calendar here in the Philippines, and the continued threat of the pandemic, things look different here — but one thing is shared between us: The excitement about schooling and education for our children.

Before they came into our Survivor Care in the Philippines, many of the children would watch from the corner of the street as other children went to school. They were unable to go to school themselves and they were wondering where their next meal would come from. The cost of uniforms, books, and tuition meant that regular education was simply beyond reach for most of their families. These vulnerabilities stacked up and often led to their exploitation.

Knowing, and at times agonizing over what these little ones have gone through, it has brought tears to my eyes to watch a child in our care proudly walking off to school or hopping on the bus, wondering with enthusiasm what school has in store for them on this day. Today, COVID-19 in the Philippines is still a very real threat, and local schools are still remote. As children in our care homeschool, we work to ensure that they are provided with what all children have the right to: the pursuit of knowledge about the world in which they were born, the world where they need to survive.

When you give to Love146, you’re supporting education – it goes beyond tutors, books, and school supplies. Supporting their education is a celebration of their triumph over all the odds in their young life. Support of their education is support of the hope that their life will not continue the way it began.
