Henry Schein has named executive Mark Hillebrandt as its new chief digital revenue officer, putting him in charge of a digital revenue team for e-commerce. The health care distributor also reported a second-quarter profit of $160 million, up from $156 million a year ago, on revenue of $3.03 billion, up from $2.97 billion.

Over 95% of enterprise resource planning tool users in the US, UK, New Zealand and Australia say they are able to evaluate and determine ERP technology requirements, but almost 50% say they need more help from providers later in the purchase process to reap benefits more quickly and make migration easier, according to a survey by business software company Epicor. Over 80% of respondents are using a hybrid cloud to run their ERPs, and 90% say it was "worth the effort" to switch to the cloud.

The Port of Los Angeles is experiencing a backlog of thousands of containers intended for rail transport, caused by a lack of railroad workers and train cars, a shortage of warehouse space and delays by importers in retrieving cargo. Port Executive Director Eugene Seroka warns that the pileup could lead to ship backups in a month to a month and a half if it is not addressed.
