The Senate betrayed net neutrality.

John,

When the FCC repeal of net neutrality went into effect two years ago, Congress was given a chance to save the Open Internet Order. The House voted to pass the Save the Internet Act to reinstate net neutrality, but the Senate never took up the bill for a vote.

In fact, yesterday, three senators stepped forward to try to force Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to bring the Save the Internet Act to the floor, but Senator Roger Wicker, one of Comcast’s biggest shills in Congress, blocked them.

In 2020, we’re going to make McConnell and FCC Chair Ajit Pai pay a political price for killing net neutrality. And we’re going to push every state to pass their own net neutrality rules to thwart Big Cable’s effort to control the Internet. We have a big job ahead of us, and luckily, just in time, a generous group of donors have offered to match 100% of every donation made to save net neutrality in order to fund an epic state-by-state push to save the open Internet.

Will you chip in $30 to help restore net neutrality in 2020? Your donation will be matched 100%, doubling its value.

Two years ago today, Pai scored one of his biggest political victories when the repeal of net neutrality went into effect.

The entire repeal was a lie. A study from George Washington University proves conclusively that the repeal of net neutrality did absolutely nothing to improve broadband investment by ISPs—despite what Pai has told the public.1 And reports keep coming that Verizon, Comcast, and the rest of Big Cable are throttling the web and charging ridiculous fees with no fear of repercussion. The latest news shows that Frontier Communications, an ISP with 4 million customers, has been charging modem rental fees even if the customer doesn’t rent a modem from the company. And the FCC refuses to do anything about it.2

Fortunately, we have a giant opening to fight back. We’ve been deep in strategic planning mode in the wake of the Federal court decision on net neutrality. Now we’re preparing for a massive coordinated campaign to get other states to follow California’s example and pass strong open Internet protections that move the needle at the national level.

We’re also going to push net neutrality into the spotlight in the upcoming 2020 election—which includes Mitch McConnell’s seat.

It’s an ambitious campaign, but luckily generous net neutrality champions have agreed to match your donation toward this campaign one-to-one. That means if you give $10, we get $20. If you give $50, we get $100. It's an amazing opportunity to maximize your support for net neutrality. Your donation will allow us to pay for newspaper ads, organize creative protests and face-to-face meetings with constituents, and flood state legislators and Capitol Hill with phone calls.

Will you chip in to help restore net neutrality and have your contribution matched dollar-for-dollar?

For the Internet,

Evan at Fight for the Future
