“What drew me to become an ambassador for TakeCharge is that I want to help more people lead resilient lives,” Shiromi said. 

Shiromi likes the focus on faith, family and education that is emphasized at TakeCharge because it was the formula that led her to marriage, motherhood and fulfilling career.

“We are a product of our choices.  We can choose to keep moving forward,” she said.

Annette Bittner

Bittner was attracted to TakeCharge because it was the first organization she saw promoting issues she thought were important for addressing the problems in the black community. Both she and her husband AJ are volunteers.They met when she was in college. She said they feel they are called to be models for others. 

“I was attracted to TakeCharge because they’re not ashamed or fearful to tell the truth unapologetically. America works for everyone, “ she said.
