New policy brief exposes problematic use of police reports

Why Congress should not codify Title 42 into law

Right now, some members of Congress are trying to make the Title 42 border policy permanent by attaching it to spending bills that will soon be voted on. This would end asylum as we know it. Title 42 is the Trump-era border policy enacted during COVID-19 to block Black, Brown, and Indigenous migrants. New data shows more than two million expulsions of people seeking safety have happened under Title 42, the vast majority of which happened during the Biden administration. See 5 facts about Title 42 that show why Congress should not codify Title 42.

TAKE ACTION: Call and send a message to your members of Congress telling them to End Title 42 and oppose efforts to continue it indefinitely!

Letter in Chicago Sun-Times urges action for humane immigration policies

Take action: Sign the petition to end Remain in Mexico!

The Supreme Court recently issued a decision that the Biden administration can end the Remain in Mexico program, but right now the policy is still in place and is still forcing people to wait in dangerous conditions to apply for asylum. Sign the petition to President Biden to end Remain in Mexico now!
