of 2022 – the biggest investment in climate policy in U.S history. If
passed, this legislation will put the U.S. on a path to reach roughly 40%
emissions reduction by 2030 while tackling inflation and the country’s
deficit.

Here’s what the Inflation Reduction Act will do:

* Expand clean energy investments and increase climate resiliency in
disadvantaged, rural, and tribal communities to reduce climate impacts
and improve public health
* Accelerate the transition to clean energy and bolster domestic
manufacturing of solar panels and wind turbines to create well-paying
green jobs and create opportunities for innovation
* Lower energy costs by making homes more energy efficient, including
tax credits for retrofits and grant assistance for low-income
residents
* Build a green economy by using public funds to incentivize private
investment in clean technologies and ultimately accelerate the
adoption of green solutions, especially in impacted communities
