codify
marriage
equality
into
federal
law
because,
when
they
overturned
Roe

Wade,
the
Supreme
Court
made
it
clear
this
was
one

the
next
things

chopping
block.

to
Contraception
Act—
I
helped
lead
the
charge
on
this
bill
which
like
the
Respect
for
Marriage
Act,
is
in
jeopardy
with
the
Trump-stacked
Supreme
Court.
It’s
coupled
with
our
effort
to
codify
reproductive
rights
and
protect
women
who
travel
across
state
lines
to
get
the
health
care
they
need.

Assault
weapon
ban—
Since
we
passed
the
first
gun
violence
prevention
measure
in
decades
into
law
this
summer,
Democrats
have
continued
to
fight
the
gun
violence
epidemic.
This
bill
bans
the
sale
of
semi-automatic
weapons
and
large
capacity
magazines—weapons
of
war—to
individuals.

While we’ve made progress by passing these bills in the house, they need to pass in the Senate to be codified into law and that’s a much bigger hurdle with the chamber split.
That’s why getting record high turnout and winning big in November is imperative. Republicans refuse to do the work for the American people. So thank you for standing with me in these final months.
