Will this be the biggest landslide since the 1894 election?
The 1894 election was one of the biggest mid-term elections that this nation has ever seen. Yes, bigger than the 2010 Tea Party Red Wave (Senate: R +6, House: R +63), bigger than the 1994 Contract with America (Senate: R +8, House: R +54), or even the 1930 Great Depression Blue Wave (Senate: D +8, House: D +52). Over our nation’s history, there have been 58 midterm elections and 13 times, the party in power of the White House lost over 50 seats in Congress. In 1894, Grover Cleveland (D) was serving his second (non-consecutive) term as president. During the midterm election, 127 house seats flipped from blue to red. The reason why there was this massive swing was because of Cleveland’s ineffective leadership in handling the nations economic downturn.

2022 has all the makings of a major landslide election. Polling data in California is showing major dissatisfaction with the performance of Joe Biden and the national Democrats.

* In 2020, Biden won California by 29 points, but today his disapproval numbers exceed his approval numbers by 9 points (a 38 point swing);
* Biden won independents by 22 points but today he is down 52 points (74 point swing);
* Biden won the youth vote by 42 points, but today he is underwater by 24 points (a 66 point swing);
* Hispanics supported Biden by 56 points, today he is underwater by 2 points (a 58 point swing).

One thing that is interesting about independent, youth, and Hispanic voters is that all three blocks of votes are much more likely to vote in the general election than in the primary. As such, the national legacy media has not picked up that a Red Wave is about to hit California.

However, just because Biden is hemorrhaging support at a rate that has not been seen in modern elections, does not mean that these blocks of voters will automatically vote for me. Just think if for 30 years you never saw a Chevy commercial. You would not have a very good impression of Chevy because all you would have seen is commercials by Ford about how good Ford is and how bad Chevy is. Now that the Ford Pinto has blown up, you may be hesitant to purchase a Ford, but that does not mean that you will buy a Chevy. The same is true in California. For the last decade, independents, youth, and Hispanic voters have not seen a lot of outreach by the Republican Party. We have to change that.

Over these last 98 days, it is going to be critical that our campaign for U.S. Senate reach out to the disenfranchised voters and educate them on the real choice that they have this November. There are two ways that you can help, you can volunteer and you can contribute. I appreciate all that you can do to help us give you a voice in the U.S. Senate for the first time in 30 years.
