Hi John
The Berkeley City Council meeting was packed last night with nearly 100 DxE activists as the Council voted on a resolution to support whistleblowers and animal rescuers who are facing criminal charges in Sonoma County. The outpouring of support -- including from everyone online -- had a huge impact, and the Council passed the resolution unanimously!
The city of Berkeley has declared that it supports the right to rescue animals from abuse. Now, we're taking the Right to Rescue resolution to San Francisco -- and beyond. We'll need your continued support to push the Right to Rescue farther, to win our case in Sonoma, and to establish a groundbreaking precedent that ordinary people everywhere have the right to help suffering animals -- wherever they are suffering.
One way you can support is to take the #RightToRescueChallenge and post a sign in your window (and a photo on social media) showing your support for the Right to Rescue. You can download the sign and see more instructions here.
We only won this victory because we had the power of the people on our side, showing support online and postering all over Berkeley! Never underestimate the power we have when we come together. Let's keep it going.
Priya
PS: All donations to DxE are still being doubled but only until the end of the year. If you can, please chip in today and help us win the Right to Rescue in court in 2020!
