Friend,

Are you looking for a new recipe this week?

As a special way to say thank you for your compassionate support of refugee families, I wanted to share this very special story and recipe with you.

I'm sure you feel similar, Friend — food is more than just ingredients and spices. And for immigrants and refugees, it can be an important way to connect to homes and cultures left behind.

I hope you can enjoy Chef Noori's mouth-watering (and incredibly meaningful) recipe for potato skins in your own kitchen.

Pictured above is Chef Hamidullah Noori, a former refugee and beloved IRC community member. In 2015, Chef Noori was able to secure a Special Immigrant Visa and relocate his family from Afghanistan to Richmond, Virginia. The IRC helped the family adjust to their new home and just two years later, Chef Noori opened his own restaurant to share his passion for Afghan cuisine with his new community.

As a thank you to the IRC's supporters, Chef Noori is sharing his Afghan potato skins recipe and the story behind it » [link removed]

Chef Noori knows how scary it can feel to start over in a new place. That's why when thousands of Afghan refugees arrived in the U.S. following last year's abrupt transition of power, he helped welcome them with homemade meals and a warm smile.

I can't wait to try Chef Noori's Afghan potato skins recipe. I hope you enjoy it as well.

You are so special to us. Thank you.
