The race is set. On Tuesday, Democrat voters in Michigan decided to
endorse failed Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's bid for a second term. They
should be careful what they wish for.
Here are just a FEW of the many ways Gov. Whitmer failed Michiganders in
the last four years.
* Failure to fix the roads: During her first campaign for governor, Gov.
Whitmer promised that she would "fix the damn roads." Years later, it is
obvious that her promise was empty
.
40% of Michigan's roads are currently rated in poor shape, according
to the state's Department of Transportation.
* Hypocrisy: Gov. Whitmer and her staff promised that she would be
champion of government transparency and open her office to records
requests. In actuality, Gov. Whitmer's administration has been one of
the least transparent in the country
,
stonewalling records requests.
* Gas Tax Hike Proposal: During her first year in office, Gov. Whimter
proposed a whopping 45-cent gas tax increase
,
a move that would have been devastating to Michigan motorists had it
passed.
* COVID-19 Nursing Home Deaths: During the worst of the COVID-19
pandemic, Gov. Whitmer forced positive patients into long term care
facilities and nursing homes. Even worse, she failed to report
over 2,400 subsequent deaths in those facilities.
These days, Gov. Whitmer is nothing more than an extension of the Biden
agenda coming from Washington, and Michiganders know all too well how
THAT'S going. In November, voters will get the chance to Fire Whitmer
once and for all.
