It used to be a December mainstay: spending weekends on end poring over a notebook, scratching out an impossibly long wishlist of all the goodies I wanted for the holidays.

Today in the spirit of holiday giving — the spirit of the magic of young people — we’re bringing back the holiday wishlist.

Can you fund our most pressing needs as we head into 2020?

When I was 6 years old, I asked for a train set, a bow and arrow, a toy tiger. Now at 26, I’m asking for slightly more practical gifts so that our movement has what it needs to fight for young people everywhere.

Here’s what’s on our wishlist

• Clipboards for canvassing

• Presentation paper for a training

• Snacks for a phonebank

• Wi-Fi for a movement house

• Transportation to an action for volunteers

• Supplies for making signs and banners

• One month of database use

• A state-wide ad campaign

• One full-time field fellow for three months

If we’re going to win the Green New Deal, we need to reach millions of people in 2020. And if we’re going to reach millions of people, we’re need the resources — from snacks to full-time staff — to go big.

That’s why we’re going big on our wishlist. Just like I did when I was six, when I first learned to dream big.
