Internal Poll Shows Hayslett Surging as Race is now Statistically Tied
Clearwater, FL - This weekend, former prosecutor and small business owner Kevin Hayslett won the official straw poll conducted by the Republican Party of Pinellas County at their Republican Candidate Showcase. By winning this key straw poll, Hayslett continues to build momentum and solidify himself as the frontrunner as the campaign released an internal polling that showed Hayslett statistically tied for the lead.
In the Republican Party of Pinellas County straw poll ([link removed]) , Hayslett received 44% of the vote, while two time Congressional candidate Amanda Makki received 31% of the vote, and Anna Paulina Luna received only 17% of the vote.
Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Julie Marcus and her staff worked in conjunction with the Republican Party of Pinellas County on July 31st, 2022 to ensure the integrity of the straw poll. Marcus has served as the Supervisor of Elections since 2019 and has made the safety and security of all elections in Pinellas County her top priority.
Last week, the Kevin Hayslett for Congress campaign released a poll ([link removed]) that showed Hayslett and Luna statistically tied for the Republican nomination in FL-13. This came less than a month after polling found Luna to have a 23 point lead over Hayslett and a 29 point lead over Amanda Makki. It is clear the momentum has shifted to Hayslett and that his Trump Tough and Law and Order message is resonating with voters. His experience as a prosecutor is only further backed by his endorsements of Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri and Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
“The people of Pinellas County want someone they can count on to stick up for them in Congress. I'm a Trump Tough Republican, I’m here to fight, and I’m here to take on the out of touch Biden-Pelosi agenda,” stated Hayslett. “The Democrats have been in charge for two years and they’ve done a lifetime of damage. It’s time to put our country and our communities first, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress.”
