Team, Earlier this week, The New York Times published an op-ed from the former political director of the DNC coming out against the DCCC blacklist. This policy has impacted our campaign dramatically. The DCCC forced 3 consultants to leave our campaign because of their threats to blacklist anyone who works with a progressive challenger to one of their incumbents. It means that we’ve had to get more creative with how we do things on this race - and while we’ve figured it out for now, that’s not without significant expense. Even the establishment knows that the DCCC blacklist hurts female candidates and candidates of color the most. It’s the party actively taking a stance to prevent diverse candidates from having a voice. We know that the DCCC’s job is to protect our majority in the House, but when they work to protect Democrats like Dan Lipinski, they are hurting Democrats everywhere. Let’s be clear about who the establishment is fighting for right now: someone who voted against Obamacare, opposes paid sick leave, fights against equality, and stands with the Trump administration on immigration. Just this week in Kentucky, we’ve seen the dangers that Republicans can pose to women’s health when left to their own goals of preventing women from having healthcare. And here in IL-03, our own representative has cosponsored bills that are just as extreme. Onward,
Ben Hardin Campaign Manager Marie Newman for Congress
