It's time to codify marriage equality at the federal level.

The MAGA Supreme Court could be on the verge of gutting another fundamental right, friend: the right of millions of Americans to have their marriages recognized in the eyes of the law.

No one -- especially not a group of extreme conservative judges -- can take away a person's right to marry and stay married to who they love. That's why we're fighting in the Senate to codify the right to same-sex and interracial marriage into federal law, no matter what the Supreme Court says.

If you agree we need to protect marriage equality from the MAGA Supreme Court, sign your name now.

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, they stripped away a fundamental right from millions of Americans.

And they signaled they won't stop there. Justice Thomas said the Court should "reconsider" the landmark decision in Obergefell v. Hodges -- the 2015 case that deemed same-sex marriage constitutional under the 14th Amendment. If the Supreme Court overturns Obergefell, it will throw the bonds of marriage of millions of couples into legal jeopardy. We can't let it happen.

From marriage equality to reproductive freedom, the MAGA Supreme Court is changing course on rights that have been constitutionally protected for years, even decades. It's sickening. But I'm proud of my colleagues in the House for swiftly introducing and passing the Respect for Marriage Act to protect marriage equality and interracial marriage.

Every Senator should support this bill. And we need a surge of public pressure to make sure the Senate does the right thing. Fundamental rights, like marrying for love, must be protected at all costs. Add your name next to mine if you believe marriage equality must be protected.

The fight continues,

Chuck Schumer
