Pray for America's Schools

Dear John,

For decades, the foundation of America's public schools has been crumbling.

The cracks formed when the Supreme Court in 1962 ruled that school-sponsored prayer was unconstitutional. Not long after, leftist ideology began to take root and spread through all public institutions.

Now, schools are indoctrinating even very young children on sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as undermining the natural family.

Recently, three mothers from Pennsylvania sued their children's first grade teacher for teaching lessons on gender identity to commemorate the International Transgender Day of Visibility. The teacher has been accused of telling her young students that sometimes "parents are wrong" about gender.

Sadly, this type of indoctrination is now being sold as mainstream. Headlines from the New York Post revealed that a non-profit organization called "Drag Story Hour NYC" had organized 49 programs in 34 public elementary, middle, and high schools, with cross-dressing performers sharing LGBTQ messaging with children as young as three--without parental consent.

Public schools are not just pushing anti-biblical viewpoints. They are robbing children of their innocence.

Over the last several decades, our classrooms have pushed God and Scripture to the side. Students and teachers are now penalized for engaging in any type of religious expression. Religion is out...but defining your own reality is in.

We devalue life and steer children away from the source of hope, so why are we shocked when some of them grow up to have no value for life? An entire generation is broken and hurting as a consequence of the teaching that they can live without God.

So how do we protect our children? It starts with prayer.

FRC has created this 30-day prayer guide to help you pray for students, parents, teachers, and administrators as they prepare to return to class in the coming weeks.

Taking a stand for America's schools begins with humbly seeking God in prayer like Daniel, who petitioned God for the spiritual renewal of his nation, despite Israel's rejection of God: "So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes." (Daniel 9:3 NIV)

Prayer is our strongest line of defense in any battle. But if we want to transform our schools and communities, we must also strengthen the spiritual foundations of our families.

Since our founding in 1983, Family Research Council has been committed to equipping believers to renew our nation by advancing a biblical worldview in all areas of society.

Will you partner with us through the most generous gift you can make today, and commit to pray with FRC for the 2022-2023 school year?

Stand with FRC for Our Families

Your vital gift will magnify FRC's impact so together we can:

  • Educate parents on how to engage their schools, teachers, and school boards to push back against dangerous ideologies like gender identity indoctrination.
  • Encourage pastors through our Watchmen on the Wall network to guide their congregations by teaching the whole counsel of Scripture and bring spiritual renewal to their communities.
  • Equip believers to defend and advance the faith through resources from the Center for Biblical Worldview.
  • Challenge men through our Stand Courageous ministry to be the natural and spiritual fathers to a lost and hurting generation.
  • Guide Christians through our Stand on the Word two-year Bible reading plan so they can become rooted in the Scriptures.
  • Inform believers on the issues of the day through our daily Washington Watch radio and TV broadcast and our newly launched digital news outlet, The Washington Stand.
  • And much more.

It's time to break the cycle! There's evil in the world, but the transformative work of the gospel does and will continue to change hearts.

Will you partner with us to turn the tide in America?

The apostle Paul reminds us to be "imitators of God" (Ephesians 5:1), a directive to hold a biblical worldview and model it to the next generation.

We must invite God back into the public square and strengthen a biblical foundation in our families, churches, and school communities. By taking a stand and boldly championing a biblical worldview, our children will learn they are valued because they are created in the image of God.

Thank you for standing with us for faith, family, and freedom, and for committing to pray with us for the 2022-2023 school year.

The generous gift you give today will help FRC advance a biblical worldview, impact communities, and protect the next generation.
