Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant Program
*The Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant Program (TTIR)* was established by Senate Bill 8 and signed into law by the Governor following the 87th Legislature (Third Called Session) to administer $180 million received from the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

Governor Abbott Announces Harker Heights Designated As Music Friendly Community
*Governor Greg Abbott*?announced that the?*City of Harker Heights*, having completed the multi-step certification process, has been designated as a *Music Friendly Community* by the Texas Music Office (TMO). The Music Friendly Community program seeks to foster music business-related economic development in Texas cities and communities.

Listen San Marcos Plans Monthly Series of Educational and Networking Events and Local Live Music
Our Certified and Designated *Music Friendly Community* of *San Marcos, TX,*?and their local initiative, *Listen San Marcos*, started a monthly educational and networking series from now until November for the public to learn more about the music industry in San Marcos. Each event will will be held on the square at The Porch and will also include live music showcases of local artists, with the *next event taking place August 16th*. TMO Community Events
TMO presented to the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, which was hosted by the City of Lago Vista, and attended by representatives from towns and cities in multiple counties. TMO was joined by our sister organizations, Texas Film Commission and Travel Texas where we discussed how cities can boost their economic development.

Odessa Arts, The Ector Theater and Young Guns Entertainment hosted their very first Battle of the Bands on July 4th weekend with Never Too Young, Gone by Nin9, Murder Monroe and the winning band; Soulstrum.

The Texas Music Office (TMO) is a state-funded business promotion office and information clearinghouse for the Texas music industry. The TMO assists more than 15,000 individual clients each year. Under mandate from the Texas Legislature, the office "promotes the development of the music industry in the state by informing members of that industry and the public about the resources available in the state for music production."
