AUGUST 2, 2022

Dear Fourth District Constituent,Image

The right to vote is our most fundamental right as Americans. Without the right to vote in free and fair elections, we are not a democracy, and we are unable to impact the laws that govern all aspects of our lives. Right now, our right to vote is under assault. Misinformation and meddling from rogue global actors like Russia, and domestic insurrectionists – as we all witnessed on January 6, 2021 – are real threats. The right to vote must be protected. As citizens, the best way to protect the right to vote is by voting!

Thankfully, in Minnesota, we have strong voter protections and an elections system run with integrity. In Minnesota, our system ensures voters can make their voices heard. We consistently have the highest percentage of voter participation of any state in the nation. In 2022, Minnesota can once again lead all other states, if you show up to vote.

To start, visit mnvotes.org for helpful information from the Minnesota’s Secretary of State’s Office about the upcoming Primary Election on Tuesday, August 9, and the General Election on November 8.

Important information you can find at mnvotes.org includes:

In the U.S. House of Representatives, I have been working to protect and strengthen our democracy and your voting rights. This Congress, I’ve voted to pass:

  • H.R. 1, the For The People Act, to increase voter access, shore up election security, campaign finance reforms, fair redistricting requirements, and more.
  • H.R. 4, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, to restore the VRA and protect voters from racial discrimination and voter suppression.
  • H.R. 5746, the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act, to expand voter registration, voting access, election integrity and security, redistricting, campaign finance, and voting rights.
As Minnesotans, it is up to all of us to do our part to keep our democracy strong. Whether you are a Democrat, Republican, or Independent, I urge all eligible citizens to vote on August 9 and again on November 8. Your vote will help shape the future of Minnesota and our nation. Again, please visit mnvotes.org for voter registration information, polling locations, and more.

Finally, don’t hesitate to reach out with your policy opinion or if you need help with a federal agency. Thank you for being an informed and engaged constituent.

Sincerely,
