‘FEELS LIKE IT’S A WHACK-A-MOLE’
Minnesota election officials on misinformation front lines - Star Tribune
|
After the 2020 election, a big part of my job became debunking misinformation about our election system.
I want to be perfectly clear: The 2020 election was fair, accurate, honest, and secure. Minnesota voters expressed their confidence in our system by making us #1 in voter turnout in America for the third time in a row.
The coordinated campaign to spread false election information began at the national level, then settled in at the state level, but has now migrated even to the local level. A new report describes how a determined group of activists is using conspiracy theories to pressure county commissioners across Minnesota to make bizarre changes to election procedures.
This kind of hyper-political vandalism of our election system is unacceptable in Minnesota. We pride ourselves on elections that work, administered in a non-political way by trusted local officials in counties and cities across the state.
I’m running for election as Secretary of State to maintain and expand that trust.
We’re one week from the primary election here in Minnesota, which will be our first major test. My campaign needs to raise another $10,000 before Friday to head into next week in a strong position. Will you make sure we have those resources by chipping in now?

My opponent is among the disinformation activists pushing lies about our elections.
Her extreme agenda would gut our voting system. We cannot let that happen.
I’m doing everything in my power to fight back and correct the record, but that takes resources. We’re a week from Minnesota’s primary, which will be our first major test this year. Will you please consider chipping in $10 or more right now?
Thanks for everything,
Steve
