social problems through creative and impactful solutions. She comes to the Foundation from the William T. Grant Foundation, where she rose from a Post-Doctoral Fellow to Senior Vice President of Programs, a position she has held since 2017.
 
“Dr. Tseng is an accomplished and highly regarded leader with deep experience in leveraging research to improve policy and practice. We value her track record of integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into programming, and her masterful skills at building strong relationships to increase impact,” said the Foundation’s Board Chair Melvin Ming. “She has what we need to propel the Foundation in its work to help young children and their families overcome harmful economic instability and social exclusion that limit their developmental potential.”
 
Dr. Tseng is a highly respected national leader, organizer, and sought-after speaker in the field. She co-founded the Transforming Evidence Funders Network, uniting 35 public and private funders to advance evidence-informed decision-making globally across policy sectors. She also founded Using Evidence for Change, a learning community of 18 philanthropic organizations that uses evidence to support equity for children and youth in the United States. While at the William T. Grant Foundation, Dr. Tseng tripled grantmaking projects led by people of color, redressed hidden biases, and created new programs to support researchers of color and nonprofit leaders from LGBTQ+ communities and communities of color.
 
These skills and experiences will prove instrumental in the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to use evidence to advocate for greater investment in early care and education (ECE); understand and advance best practices; build the next generation of diverse researchers in the field; and bring economic and social equity to the ECE workforce—the professionals who are key to achieving better outcomes for all children.
 
“I am honored to be chosen as the next President and CEO of the Foundation for Child Development, our nation’s oldest philanthropy devoted to improving the lives of young children. I look forward to channeling my energy and passion to the Foundation’s work to serve children, particularly those marginalized by racism, xenophobia, and poverty,” said Dr. Tseng.
 
Dr. Tseng will begin her work with the Foundation on November 1, 2022.
