Friends,

I wanted to make sure you saw this – the House recently passed the National
Defense Authorization Act, and I was glad to secure many victories for our
country and the Miami Valley.

For our country and those who serve in our military:
* Increased pay of our men and women in uniform to combat inflation
* Established a Servicemember Parent’s Bill of Rights
* Increased Biden’s inadequate defense budget by $37 billion
* Expanded mental health services and suicide prevention programs

For our Dayton community:
* Authorized $29 million for a School Age Child Care Center at
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
* Reauthorized the Small Business Innovation Research Program through
2024
* Established a program within the Department of Defense to increase STEM
research funding at Central State University and Wilberforce University
here in Ohio, as well as other Historically Black Colleges and
Universities.

The passage of this legislation establishes our nation’s defense priorities
and makes critical investments in our military. Expanding operations at
Wright-Patterson strengthens Dayton’s defense industry and grows our local
economy.

I will continue to advocate for investment in our military and Wright-Patt,
ensuring they have the resources they need to protect your family and our
country.
