Friend, we all know that corporations are our BIGGEST polluters. But what if we told you that the pollution that corporations report was only the tip of the iceberg? Currently, many of the largest corporations doing business in California are not reporting their carbon footprint to the public. This is not OK. The public deserves access to information about these corporations’ true contributions to the climate crisis. Fortunately, we’ve got just the way: SB 260. SB 260, the Climate Corporate Accountability Act, would require the largest corporations to publicly disclose their full carbon footprint. And it’s got a ton of momentum; SB 260 has already passed the State Senate and two key Assembly Committees. Next up is an Assembly Appropriations Committee Hearing NEXT WEEK! Friend, can I count on you to take 30 seconds to help pass this critical climate bill? Please send an email to Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and Appropriations Committee Chair Chris Holden urging them to support SB 260 >> |

I can’t emphasize enough the impact SB 260 would make in the fight to solve the climate crisis, friend. The Climate Corporate Accountability Act is a historic opportunity to put California at the forefront of game-changing climate leadership by putting into law the nation’s first mandatory corporate emissions disclosure requirement for the largest and most profitable corporations in the state. We can’t tackle the climate crisis without corporate accountability. We also can’t win this fight without leadership from our elected officials. The State Senate has done its job. Now it’s up to the Assembly. Assemblymember Holden chairs the Committee that next week will decide the future of SB 260 – and the future of our state’s ability to address the climate crisis before it’s too late. And Speaker Rendon will decide if SB 260 receives a vote on the floor of the Assembly. So send a message to these two leaders to make sure they will support SB 260 and do everything in their power to help it pass >> Let’s make history! |
