| 19th Annual Commonwealth Dinner: August 13th Ticket sales close on Friday for our 19th Annual Commonwealth Dinner, and we are almost sold out! With keynote addresses from Emmett Schelling and Richie Jackson, and an energetic after-dinner dance with more special guests, this is an evening you don’t want to miss! Get involved through volunteering, hosting or sponsoring a table, or by purchasing an advertisement for the program. |

| | Volunteer at the Commonwealth Dinner! We are still looking for volunteers to help at the Commonwealth Dinner. Volunteer roles include set up, greeter, ushers, and break down. Each volunteer will receive training (virtual and in-person), a complimentary ticket and dinner, and will get to enjoy the evening’s program - including performances, speakers, after-party, and the chance to connect with others who are dedicated to full liberation for LGBTQ+ people. |

| | Safe Schools Action Network Trainings: August 2nd, August 9th, August 24th Want to speak out in support of LGBTQ+ youth at a school board meeting, committee hearing, or on a public comment forum - but don't know what to say? Need some tips and tricks for public speaking? Join Kyleigh Hynes, EV’s Safe Schools Coordinator, at our Safe Schools trainings in August! Today’s Advocacy 101 Training from 6:00-7:00 pm will go over different methods of advocacy, things to consider before advocating, and more! On August 9th from 12:00-1:00 pm or August 24th from 6:00-7:00 pm you can learn how to structure your comments, persuasive talking points, tips for speaking, and what to expect at public meetings! |

| | Name Change & Gender Marker Clinic: August 16th At this clinic, volunteer attorneys will assist clients with the legal aspects of name and gender marker changes. Specific offerings include name change applications, birth certificate corrections (including petitions for gender marker changes where required by the birth state), social security record updates, DMV ID, passports, military discharge records (DD214 amendments), and answering related legal questions. Income limitations apply. Cost assistance is available. Volunteer attorneys are licensed in Virginia; clients must reside in Virginia or have been born in Virginia in order to receive assistance. |
