Dear John,
In a speech about the economy during the 1980 presidential campaign, then-candidate Ronald Reagan said, “If it’s a definition he wants, I’ll give him one: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his.”
More recently, in 2020, the choice was clear: Re-elect President Trump, the leader who oversaw record-setting economic prosperity, $2 gas prices, and real wage growth for all Americans---or elect Joe Biden, a professional politician with a 48-year record of failure.
Beyond having since proved the economic consequences of the 2020 election, DC Democrats continue to try to redefine the truths upon which this nation was founded. The definition of a man or a woman, the role of parents in raising and educating their children, and the extent of government’s control of our lives are just some examples facing us today.
It should not surprise us that DC Democrats are now also trying to redefine what it means to be in a recession. The new definition seems to be whatever Democrats want it to be, or whatever fits their agenda. Today, they and their surrogates are calling the economic and energy crises they have created a “transition.” They don’t care or don’t understand that the American people don’t want to waste time debating what the definition of a recession is—they care that they are paying a lot MORE for a lot LESS.
The truth is, the Democrat Party does not care that you are suffering. They are perfectly willing to watch hardworking Americans being battered, in order to advance their socialist agenda in Washington. In less than two years, the Biden Administration has plunged a thriving economy into a recession, rejected American energy independence in favor of climate extremism and record high gas prices, and rammed through reckless deficit spending to cause the worst inflation in 40 years.
Doubling down on the failed policies that Joe Biden unleashed on America after the 2020 election, and that are now causing our country to hang by a thread, my Democrat opponent wants to continue this disastrous course. Will you please support my re-election campaign so I can continue to fight the out-of-control spending and other policies that are causing this economic crisis?
I hope I can count on you to continue to stand and fight with me for the future of America.

May God Bless you, and may God continue to bless America!
