** Connecting with communities in West Yorkshire

The MCB team was delighted to visit Muslim communities and long-standing affiliates in West-Yorkshire, on the hottest days in the UK.
The purpose of these engagements was to get a better understanding of the work that is happening locally, strengthen relationships, and gain feedback that can help support the development of the MCB strategy moving forward.

The Daily Mail sought to attack Conservative Party leadership hopeful Penny Mordaunt for meeting Zara Mohammed, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain in 2021. Further peddling, 'cancel culture' by accusing the MCB of being a boycotted organisation.
The newspaper has a long history of pushing negative tropes against Muslims.

Forde Report
We have written to Sir Keir Starmer upon the release of the Forde Report which directly accuses the Labour party of "operating a hierarchy of racism or discrimination."
The MCB will continue to hold all parties to account on issues of structural inequalities.

Muslim Doctors Association
Our to the wonderful team at the Muslim Doctors Association for an invitation to speak at their celebration dinner, wonderful to see so many Muslim women making change, challenging stereotypes and providing real leadership for us all.
Faith Inspire
It was a delight to join the our affiliates Faith Inspire for their wonderful young leaders graduation 🎓 We were impressed by how much support parents were giving the young people to go out of their comfort zones and take on new experiences

Al Mahdi Institute Visit
Our Assistant-Secretary General, Dr Shahzad Amin had a great time attending the Al Mahdi Institute graduation ceremony, wonderful to celebrate the achievements of all and to meet friends and colleagues of the MCB
Inter Faith
Deputy Secretary General, Hassan Joudi, spoke at the online AGM ([link removed]) of the national Inter Faith Network, including reflections on over a decade of Inter Faith Weeks ([link removed]) and impact of campaigns like #VisitMyMosque.
