The disastrous "Build Back Broke" bill proposed by President Biden's administration and my colleagues across the aisle would be devastating for Made in Montana energy production and would raise gasoline and energy prices for Montana families.
If their reckless tax and spend bill passes, it would impose billions in taxes and fees on American-made oil and gas production, and Montana families will be stuck footing the bill for higher costs.
Their dangerous tax and spend proposal also spends $369 BILLION on Green New Deal policies to appease radical environmental groups at the expense of Montana families.
And get this – the bill would raise taxes on Montanans to subsidize electric cars for the ultra-rich. In fact, individuals making up to $150,000 will be eligible for $7,500—paid for by taxpayers—to buy expensive EVs. It’s simply not fair.
As your voice in the United States Senate, I will keep fighting back against this reckless tax and spend bill and work toward commonsense policies that will lower energy costs for hardworking Montana families -- NOT raise them.
