We know we sent you quite a bit of email this past weekend, and if your inbox looks anything like mine, I’m sure you know that can be a bit intense from time to time.

But I wanted to provide insight on the philosophy behind our strategy: 99% of donations to the DNC come from grassroots supporters giving less than $200. In fact, our average online gift is $27 -- yes, just $27!

That means that emails like this go a long way toward funding our work to fight back against the GOP and elect Democrats everywhere. Simply put, the DNC’s work to strengthen our party’s political infrastructure and hold onto our majorities is made possible by your support.

So, because we’re genuine partners in this fight, I want to pull back the curtain and be honest with you: We fell short of our July online fundraising goal.

As you’d imagine, that’s not good. Especially this year, when we’re working harder than ever to protect our democracy and our individual freedoms. The good news is that there’s still time to make up for this shortfall.

But we have less than 100 days left until the midterm elections, and we need to have the resources. We cannot afford to hand the House and Senate over to Republicans like Mitch McConnell. Will you match our July online average donation of $27 to help close in on our goal?
