Save the Children has deep roots in rural Kentucky. Our work in the United States began right here in 1932 as we worked to help children survive the Great Depression. In Kentucky today, we provide high-quality early education programs in some of the most impoverished communities in the country.

Thanks to support from this community, our teams were already well prepared to respond to this emergency. We had supplies pre-positioned and are now working to distribute them to children and families. We’re working with national and state partners to assess children’s most immediate needs, as well as with local early learning partners to gauge the impact and needs of the area’s child care centers.
