BAKER | As we look to the future of abortion in the U.S., we can learn from the experiences of people in countries with restrictive abortion laws who have managed to find safe, effective ways to have abortions by using the original abortion pill: misoprostol.
While mifepristone is expensive and unnecessarily restricted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, misoprostol is inexpensive and widely available by prescription for different indications in pharmacies across the country.

Poland’s Near-Total Abortion Ban Threatens Ukrainian Refugees [[link removed]]
BY HANNAH PHELPS | Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, more than 3.5 million Ukrainian refugees have entered Poland. Coupled with the strict abortion laws in Poland and the overall circumstances surrounding the refugee crisis, hundreds of women and other pregnant individuals are now forced to carry their pregnancies to term.
