Our national affiliate, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), just announced their endorsement of Mandela Barnes for U.S. Senate. We couldn’t be more thrilled!
Mandela Barnes has spent his career fighting for clean energy and climate justice. As Lieutenant Governor he led the Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change. In his years in the legislature, he boasted a 100 percent lifetime score on the Wisconsin Conservation Scorecard. He truly is a champion for our water, our air, our lands, and the health of all Wisconsinites.
You know as well as I do how important this election is. That’s why we are running the largest election program in Wisconsin Conservation Voters’ 20-year history – more than 2 million voter contacts to turn out the pro-conservation vote this fall. Every voter we speak with will help push Governor Tony Evers, Attorney General Josh Kaul, and legislative champions to victory. And, now, our work will also propel Mandela Barnes to victory in the U.S. Senate race.
Voters will hear from us via mail, text, phone, digital ads, radio, and door-to-door canvassing. Our voter contact program includes a youth vote strategy focused on five UW campuses that will engage 5,000 students to get them to register, vote, volunteer, mobilize friends and family to vote, and to organize for continued pro-conservation activism after the election.
We haven’t yet received your 2022 membership contribution. If we are going to win this November we need everybody to be all in.
