Wyoming's economy continues to improve, despite record inflation nationally. The state's June unemployment rate of 3.2% is the lowest it's been since October 2008. Year-over-year total jobs are up as well. Both sales and use tax collections and severance tax collections have increased when compared to 2021. Oil and gas jobs are still slow to recover, the industry still feeling feeling the impacts of the Biden Administration's war on Wyoming's energy industry.?

Governor Gordon named Vice-Chair of Western Governors Association
Governor Gordon attended the Western Governors Association annual meeting in Idaho this week, where he was named Vice-Chairman. WGA has a proud collaborative tradition of developing effective policy to improve the lives of all westerners. The 2022 meeting included policy resolutions addressing National Minerals Policy; Federal-State Land Exchanges and Purchases; and Recreation and Tourism on Public Lands.

Hunger Initiative Day at CFD
It's a celebration unlike any other, as Cheyenne Frontier Days descends upon the Capital City. The world's largest outdoor rodeo brought visitors from around the world to Wyoming. The event includes pro rodeo, nightly entertainment and some special traditions. Saturday was Wyoming Hunger Initiative Day, with the Governor and First Lady taking part in the parade and the rodeo grand entry.?
