This is an historic victory, John.
For the first time since the original ban was passed in 1994, the House finally passed an assault weapons ban and we are closer than ever to getting these deadly firearms off the street.
This is the lifesaving change that Brady has worked toward for decades:
In 1994, Brady helped pass the original assault weapons ban – and mass shootings decreased.
In 2004, the ban expired, and the NRA’s deadly influence blocked it from being renewed. Since then mass shootings have increased by over 300%. We witnessed them in Buffalo. Uvalde. Highland Park. Odessa. Dayton. Aurora. Parkland. Poway. Orlando. Las Vegas. Pittsburgh. Newtown. Charleston.
But Brady kept fighting. To honor the victims and survivors of these mass tragedies and stop yet another city from being added to that list.
Now, in 2022, the House passed an assault weapons ban, and we won’t stop working until this is the law of the land.
Your dedication to this fight and belief in this mission are what brought us to this moment and we’re counting on you to dig in deep one more time. Can you donate now to help us finally pass the ban in the Senate and get these weapons of war off our streets? [[link removed]]
