It’s no secret that Wisconsin is one of Democrats’ top pickup
opportunities in the Senate this fall, and today, I’m asking for you to
join me in supporting Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes. Mandela can — and simply
must — win this race.

Mandela, the son of a public school teacher and third-shift auto worker,
is an incredible candidate. He’s built a grassroots coalition to win this
seat, with deep ties dating back from his time as a community organizer
and state legislator, to now as Lieutenant Governor.

And Mandela’s opponent, Republican Senator Ron Johnson is, hands down, one
of the worst of the worst GOP Senators.

Because it would take way too long to read about all of his many
destructive and delusional actions, here are just a few of the things
Johnson’s done recently:

Johnson has purposefully spread COVID misinformation, peddled Trump’s Big
Lie about the election, and even went on Fox News to cover for Donald
Trump’s extortion of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, an offense for which
Trump was impeached, by blaming Putin’s invasion on... me. Yeah, I know.
Delusional. And that’s just in the last few years.

Yep, he’s that kind of Senator. And he’s gotta go.

Mandela, on the other hand, is campaigning on abolishing the filibuster to
reestablish voting rights, taking on the gun lobby to protect our
communities and schools, and codifying Roe v. Wade as federal law.

Republicans know Johnson is in trouble, which is why Mitch McConnell and
his allies are investing tens of millions of dollars in Wisconsin to shore
up his sagging poll numbers, which show Mandela neck-and-neck in this
race.

A pickup opportunity like the one in Wisconsin could very well protect and
expand our Senate majority, and a Senator like Mandela could be a
gamechanger. That’s why I’m asking:
