Dear Friend,
The Republican Party is on the verge of winning the Latinx vote this year.(1)
While Democrats held a huge 47-point lead over Republicans with Latinx voters just four years ago, today the Democrats and Republicans are statistically tied among Latinx voters, according to a New York Times poll.(2) It’s a tectonic, unprecedented, disastrous development that changes the face of the election.
If Republicans win the Latinx vote -- or just make significant inroads -- it would be catastrophic for Democrats and would almost certainly lead to a massive, nationwide Republican wave in November. That’s why they’re investing millions of dollars in key districts with large Latinx populations.
But Courage California is fighting back. We’re spending big on grassroots organizing and polling in the flip districts in the Central Valley, the Inland Empire, and Orange County regions -- home to key Latinx voters -- to find the right messaging to ensure Latinx voters reelect Democrats Mike Levin and Katie Porter and flip Devin Nunes’ old district blue.
But we need your help. Will you rush a $5 contribution today to win the Latinx vote and prevent a Republican wave?
Friend, this isn’t hyperbole.
Last month, Republican Mayra Flores won a Democratic-held congressional district that contains the second-largest Hispanic constituency in the country and which Democrats have long dominated.(3)
President Biden won the district by four points in 2020. But Republicans won last month by a nearly 7-point margin -- signaling a massive 11-point net gain.
And now the Republican machine is targeting battleground seats right here in California. Their strategy is to pour millions of dollars into courting Latinx voters in Southern California who would swing the election in their favor.
It’s up to us to stop them.
Will you chip in $5 to our Latinx organizing and polling fund today? Your donation will help defend Democratic seats in Southern California and will help flip several swing districts from red to blue.
Yours in the fight for progressive values,
Irene, along with Amber, Angela, Annie, Isidra, Jay, Lindsay, LisaMarie, Mai, Mai, Raquel, and Scottie (the Courage PAC team)
