Friend,

In June, the Supreme Court took away abortion rights and opened the door to striking down all kinds of federal regulations meant to keep things like food, water, and medicine safe. It's clearer than ever that the Court is focused on one purpose: delivering for the big special interests that paid so much money to put the newest right-wing justices on the Court.

So, what can we do about it? I'm currently sponsoring multiple pieces of legislation to fix what's broken at the Court. If you have a minute or two, I'd like to briefly explain what I'm working on.

I just introduced the Supreme Court Review Act, which would make it easier for Congress to pass legislation in response to rulings that misinterpret the Constitution or deny constitutional rights. With activist judges handing out a flurry of rulings favoring right-wing donor interests, this bill would help Congress quickly respond with only a simple majority – taking the filibuster out of it.

And as dark money continues to plague the Court – shady special interests funded ads for justices hand-picked to serve their agenda – we need to improve transparency around judicial confirmations. That means passing my DISCLOSE Act to expose the role of dark money in the right-wing Court capture operation.

My Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal and Transparency Act would require judges to be more transparent about conflicts of interest, travel and gifts.  Shadowy groups that lobby the Court would have to actually disclose their funders. And it would establish real, long-overdue recusal standards.

Last, I'm introducing legislation this week that calls for term limits at the Supreme Court – making it impossible for one President to pack the bench with lifetime judges.

When it comes to treating the disease of dark money plaguing the Supreme Court, sunshine is the best cure. I've long been leading the Senate fight to combat special interest power and restore integrity to the Court – a fight that’s now more consequential than ever before.

But we need to keep the Senate majority. With so much work ahead, I want to personally ask for your support:

Please, will you make a donation of $5 or more to my campaign today? I rely entirely on the grassroots support of folks like you, so every dollar makes a difference.

We've got a long road ahead to change the course of the Supreme Court, but giving up is not an option. Thanks for being with me in this fight.

Sincerely,
Sheldon
