I hope you had a good weekend, friend. I spent mine on the farm, wrapping up our winter wheat harvest, and making calls to my Senate colleagues urging them to vote in favor of our PACT Act this week.
In case you missed it, dozens of Senate Republicans went back on their word last Wednesday and blocked the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our PACT Act — legislation that makes good on our country’s promise to provide care for our veterans who are sick and dying as a result of toxic exposure while serving their country.
To be clear, this same bill had overwhelming bipartisan support the last time it came to a vote in the Senate just a few weeks ago.
Americans see through the political garbage that happened last week in Washington. Veterans, everyday Americans, and all of us here in the Senate trying to do the right thing are all thinking the same thing: enough is enough. Republican politicians have to stop playing partisan games with people’s lives.
These Senate Republicans are choosing to stand between our nation’s veterans, and the health care and benefits they deserve. And the truth is, every day we don’t pass this bill, another veteran will die of toxic exposure.
Many of these same Senate Republicans voted to send these brave men and women into war. I believe that if you are going to do that, you better be prepared to take care of them when they come home.
I’m livid. And I’m fighting as hard as I can to get this bill another vote this week. I’ve been calling my Senate colleagues, and I’ll be doing TV interviews all day to dial up the public pressure.
Republicans know they’re on the wrong side of this — we just need them to know the American people are watching and see through their charade. So here’s how you can help: Add your name now to tell Senate Republicans this is no time for political games and they should support the PACT Act immediately. [[link removed]]

The more noise we can make on the issue, the better. These Republicans are counting on everyday Americans not paying attention to them screwing over our veterans. So let’s make sure they don’t get away with it.
Thanks,
Jon
