Josh Shapiro has been with us since the beginning. As a state representative, he had a stellar voting record on gun reform. As Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, he has made gun violence prevention and accountability a top priority, shutting down ghost gun operations, creating the Track and Trace program to reduce illegal gun trafficking efforts, and so much more. He is a recipient of our Keystone Courage Award because every day in his current role and throughout his career, he is using the full force of his office and his power to make the lives of Pennsylvanians safer.
Say you’re with Josh. Take a moment right now to pledge you're going to cast a ballot in November to get Josh Shapiro elected as our next governor.
We know this is said quite a lot in email blasts nowadays, but the stakes couldn’t be higher. We have a choice, as voters and as gun reform advocates, and the choice will determine not just the next four years, but really the rest of our lives. Josh Shapiro will not only continue the steadfast leadership we’ve taken for granted with Governor Wolf, vetoing really dangerous bills and making deep investments toward community violence prevention, he’ll create the political mandate for the reforms we’ve been demanding for years.
On the other hand, Josh’s opponent, Doug Mastriano, is every fear you could imagine, packed into the body of a January 6th insurrectionist. He recently donated $5,000 to Gab, an extreme social media site where the Tree of Life mass shooting culprit wrote his anti-Semitic manifesto. He’s the legislative architect of arming school teachers and concealed permitless carry, and he’d be overjoyed to see guns in virtually every public space imaginable. Most frightening of all, Doug Mastriano wants to nullify federal gun laws. Every protection we’ve been able to sustain these last few years through thousands of hours of organizing will go away, replaced with the ideology of a person who thinks overthrowing our government is a mainstream activity.
