Mitch McConnell just sent out a fundraising email on behalf of my Republican opponent, warning that if they lose in Iowa, they risk losing their Republican majority in the Senate. He even admitted "Democrats have the momentum to flip Iowa's Senate seat."
McConnell knows that we have a real shot at flipping this seat and the Senate -- and he's scared. His dark money group has already poured millions into the state and they're only going to spend more in the coming months.
John, we can't get comfortable or slow down now. Pitch in $5, or whatever you can, right now to help us take on McConnell, and flip this seat and the Senate.
The road to taking back the Senate runs straight through Iowa, and right now, we have momentum on our side. This is a single-digit race, and Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight is calling my Republican opponent "especially vulnerable."
I know we have a tough fight ahead of us. We can be certain McConnell is going to do -- and spend -- whatever it takes to keep his majority so he can continue to try and gut Social Security, remove protections for pre-existing conditions, and confirm anti-choice judges.
We need to keep up our momentum if we're going to take back control of the Senate and make progress on the issues that matter most to us, and that means making sure we have the resources to fight back right now.
