Youth Leadership Council
Virtual Advocacy Program

Know a trailblazer, activist, or changemaker between the ages of 13-18?

Farm Sanctuary's Youth Leadership Council (YLC) may be the perfect place for them to connect with like-minded student peers, learn more about our modern food system, and take action.

YLC is a national network of passionate teenagers striving to create a more just, sustainable, and compassionate food system.

Virtual YLC members will:
* Connect and collaborate with fellow youth activists.
* Dive deeper into the interrelated issues of our food system.
* Experience a virtual tour of our California Sanctuary.
* Become leaders in their schools and communities.
* Launch advocacy projects that align with their interests.
* Make a difference for farm animals, workers, communities, and the planet.

Youth Leadership Council members will also receive tools, resources, and support to help change hearts and minds and bring about positive change in our food system!

Students will connect during monthly Council meetings throughout the school year.

The application window is now open for the 2022-23 school year. Students (ages 13-18) interested in joining are encouraged to complete the short YLC application form before September 11.

YLC's orientation meeting will be held on September 11, but we'll continue to accept applications through October 2.

Prospective members will be provided a Welcome Packet with additional information about the program, including the meeting schedule, and a parent/guardian permission form. Prospective members will also attend a brief phone interview where they will have the opportunity to ask questions about YLC.

We are excited for another inspiring year with Farm Sanctuary's Youth Leadership Council and thank you for your interest in education and advocacy!

With gratitude from the YLC Advisors,

Chloe Fuller
