Right now Indigenous leaders, Black frontline representatives, community organizers, and youth are on the ground in Madrid, Spain at the United Nations’ climate change talks, also known as COP25.

Through the It Takes Roots Alliance (ITR), CJA is pushing back against Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, which supports carbon pricing and offsets, exposing the threat of geoengineering and nuclear, and coordinating with others around frontline Green New Deal work.

For the last week, we’ve also been in Chile, where the talks were originally slated to be held until the Chilean government cancelled them in a move to prevent more international attention on the social movements’ heroic uprising for basic economic, human and social rights.
