John, It’s the end of month deadline, and we need to shore up our last line of defense against creeping fascism: state attorneys general. Right Wing Arizona AG Mark Brnovich---Republican, of course--is petitioning an Arizona court to allow an abortion ban from 1901 to go into effect, banning abortion for every woman in Arizona, except when her life is at risk. Women who will suffer bodily trauma from pregnancies with severe complications, 10 yr old rape victims, 12 yr olds molested by a member of the family, this soulless cretin wants to force every one of them to give control of their bodies, mental health, economic well-being--THEIR LIVES, to the state. Luckily, we have just the answer for Brnovich's evil, electing Kris Mayes the next Arizona Attorney General, a dedicated public servant who has won statewide office in Arizona in the past and, most importantly, an abortion rights fighter who will ensure that office is occupied by someone who will always protect the right to choose. Sadly, the story in Arizona is not unique. In Ohio, Attorney General David Yost called the 10 yr old girl who was raped and, in a what became a national story, had to flee to Indiana to get an abortion, a "liar." This craven zealot said a 10 yr old girl just made it up...until the rapist was arrested in Columbus and Yost had to retreat to the safety of (for once) shutting up. |
