I remember how exciting it felt to be a 29-year old first-term lawmaker watching the State of the State address in person.

I never imagined I would be in a position to deliver that same speech before the people of Michigan, especially during the first time in Michigan history that the Governor, Attorney General, Chief Justice of the State Supreme Court, and the Secretary of State were all women.

Generous supporters like you are the reason we made history John. Now, it's our job to ensure that the doors of opportunity and the glass ceilings we helped smash extend to the generations that succeed us.

That's why my team set out to bring in 250 individual donations to get our end-of-year fundraising goal back on track -- because we need the strongest grassroots force imaginable to take on the tough challenges ahead. Can I count on you to be one of those donors and pitch in John? >>

There's no shortage of reasons why I need your support in this fight. Our infrastructure is failing, childhood literacy continues to decline, and dozens of communities across the state do not trust the safety of their drinking water.

These problems and crises didn't happen overnight -- They were the product of years of neglect and mismanagement.

Michigan families need robust action to address these critical issues. The proposals and policies I'm pushing forward with are aggressive and bold because time isn't on our side -- struggling families need relief and they need it fast.

I'm going to give this everything I have: If you're with me, I would greatly appreciate if you would pitch in to be one of the 250 donations we need to reach our end-of-year fundraising goal >>
