John, we have never been closer to banning the deadly assault weapons that have been used time and again in our country's deadliest mass shootings.
We did not stay silent after countless tragedies perpetrated with AR-15 styles rifles, and our lawmakers took note: On Friday, the House passed an assault weapons ban for the first time in decades and now the bill will move to the Senate – and we are counting on all of our grassroots activists to keep their voices loud and demand this lifesaving change.
Can you help us make it urgently clear: We need an assault weapons ban NOW. Send a message and urge the Senate to pass this lifesaving legislation. >> [[link removed]]

We know that banning assault weapons saves lives. When a federal ban was in effect, the country saw a 37% decline in gun massacres and a 70% decline in assault weapons traced to crime. But Congress let the ban expire due to NRA influence and mass shooting deaths have increased by 347%.
We need these weapons of war off our streets, so we're asking all of our grassroots activists to make it undeniably clear that the time for change is NOW. Tell the Senate to pass the assault weapons ban and save lives. >> [[link removed]]
